** Attachment added: "Result of "ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg" (the GeForce 6200 was not connected, as it wont boot with it)" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37604042/apport.xserver-xorg.iPu1NZ.apport
** Description changed: I just made 9.04 -> 9.10 upgrade on a machine with a GeForce 6200 and two monitors. Now it can't boot: Grub load, then displays "Starting Up...", then black screen. No SSH reacheable nor Ctrl+Alt+Del working, I believe the computer is dead. Removing the GeForce 6200 and pluging one monitor on the on-board ATI VGA adapter do work. It was working before Karmic. + This bug may be related to #462516.. + + lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 apt-cache policy xserver-xorg xserver-xorg: - Installed: 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 - Candidate: 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 - Version table: - *** 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 0 - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 1:7.4+3ubuntu7 0 - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages + Installed: 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 + Candidate: 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 + Version table: + *** 1:7.4+3ubuntu10 0 + 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 1:7.4+3ubuntu7 0 + 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages -- Boot freeze with GeForce 6200 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/504577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
