Comment 271 in bug 415023 indicates that this bug, or at least something with the same symptoms (hotkeys changing 2 brightness levels at a time) apply to the MSI Wind U100 in Karmic. I certainly do see the same symptom, but have not yet validated whether blacklisting the acpi video module solves it, like it did for the initial reporter of this bug.
