Could you please try building the alsa-source kernel modules for your kernel like so?
1. sudo apt-get install module-assistant 2. sudo m-a get alsa-source 3. sudo m-a build alsa-source 4. sudo m-a install alsa-source 5. Reboot If your audio input works again, then there is a fix that needs to be pulled from the latest alsa code into the lucid kernel.
