I built this computer about 3years ago with an ASUS P5LD2-VM motherboard. It also has a WD 250 mb HDD. I became interested in Kubuntu first and then tried Ubuntu. Going to the website (Ubuntu) and downloading Karmic Koala I was asked to install the OS within Windows or as a stand alone version. I chose to install within Windows. I downloaded all the service files associated with the install and would check every three days or so for more updates. I admit that I really like the "clean" look and "feel" of the OS and was learning where the "nuts and bolts" were kept. I am still a little foggy on how to go about using Gnome commands to manually install programs. As to your question "Is this reproducible?" All I can add is that at bootup, I have a choice of either Windows or Ubuntu. When I choose Ubuntu it boots quite nicely. After a bit of trying out the system, I play AisleRiot Solitaire, Lady Jane. These last several sessions have experienced the same result as I noted in my previous email. During play the OS would go to a black screen and then to the login. I hope that this satisfies your query. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- rom: "David Tombs" <cyan.s...@gmail.com> To: <rde...@roadrunner.com> Sent: Friday, January 01, 2010 4:49 PM Subject: [Bug 502165] Re: system reboots during solitaire play Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions: 1. Is this reproducible? 2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as detailed as possible. This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Also, when you say "running within Windows XP Pro" do you mean in a virtual machine? If so, please specify what VM software you are using and your configuration. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- system reboots during solitaire play https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502165 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug.
