Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-themes
The themes provided with Ubuntu do not adhere to the GtkReliefStyle property on GtkButtons properly. #. GTK_RELIEF_NONE When the button is drawn, the relief style appears to work, but when the mouse moves over the button, it switches back to GTK_RELIEF_NORMAL (instead of just brightening up a little perhaps?). Toggle buttons with GTK_RELIEF_NONE are even worse, they switch to and hold GTK_RELIEF_NORMAL when toggled (instead of just darkening a little?). #. GTK_RELIEF_HALF This relief style has absolutely no effect whatsoever. I'm guessing its meant to just have the soft edge around the button but no gradient curvature over the button. Here is a sample program that demonstrates relief behavior: http://en.pastebin.ca/1737827 And two screenshots taken from Ubuntu 9.10 using the default theme (human-clearlooks): 1. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4184/unmouse.jpg 2. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7656/mouseu.jpg In the 2nd screenshot, the mouse is hovering over the first button.
