You generally can't revert due to serious changes in the kernel wifi infrastructure. Sometimes installing linux-backports-modules-karmic will do the trick as this brings in even newer drivers from even newer kernel versions. (It does currently contain updated drivers and microcode for this wireless chipset.)
And forget about embarrassing. There are huge numbers of bugs constantly reported against Ubuntu that receive no attention and are just left open for years. Nobody at Ubuntu appears to care. (I had two of crashing on startup programs that were one line fixes, confirmed in bug trackers of other Linux distros etc, and sat through at least 4 Ubuntu releases the last I checked!) -- intel 4965 fails with 5ghz (karmic regression) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/437990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
