Hi there, im driving a 8.04 ubuntu and had no problems with my dvd burner for some hundreds of discs. But now there is an issue since some weeks, where no burning remains successful. i changed the media to exclude an incompatibility with that but this had no effect.
uname -a Linux ICEBURNER 2.6.24-26-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 1 18:37:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux i think its araised with one of the newer kernels, because i have some other pc's with ubuntu 8.04 and one with 9.10. It is not fact that all my hardware is defect, please guide me thru a process of investigating the reasons.
