I forgot to mention that I tried the linux-backports-modules-alsa- karmic-generic, but the result is a lousy and very low volume sound reproduction and extreme noise into the microphone. This workaround is not the solution to the problem. I decided to publish this bug when I tried all the alternatives available to me. Thinking that probably should be sent as upstream to ALSA developers.
