I tried this in Inkscape 0.47~pre4-0ubuntu1 on karmic and it gave the
expected error message:
File /tmp/my.pdf is write protected. Please remove write protection and
try again.
Hopefully, this means the bug is fixed in Ubuntu so I'll close this
report. If you still experience this problem with the latest official
ubuntu package, please feel free to reopen the report. Many thanks!
