I use GIF images with transparency in my documents. Had no issues
exporting those documents to PDF until most recent version. The problem
only affects Calc for some reason.
Attached is the document to illustrate the problem. Images on the left
side were inserted into the ODS document via Insert -> Image -> From
File... menu entry. Images on the right side of the attached document
were copy-pasted from the ODT document.
I can print out this ODS document just fine, with all images being in
place. However, when I export the file into PDF from Calc, here is the
problem.
The resulting PDF document looks fine on the screen but when I or the
person I email the PDF to tries to print it out, there are no images
appear on paper. This could be a very neat feature indeed, but in this
case it has been put in the wrong place. I would expect images to be
printed out the way they appear on the screen.
Similar text document (ODT) being created the same way with same very
images exports the file to PDF correctly.
To reproduce the bug, open attached spreadsheet and export it to PDF
with default options. Selecting lossless compression for images would
not help anyway.
Now open the PDF file with the PDF viewer (Evince in my case) and notice
that all images are perfectly laid out and are clearly visible.
Print out the PDF from the viewer. Images are gone on paper copy!
Print out the document from Calc, and there is no such problem.
May I suggest that upon fixing this bug the option to make images
unprintable in PDF to be included with PDF export tab.
