I can confirm that my images (both in RAW format and the ones stored in
LVM volumes) stopped working with the KVM in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic).
Converting to qcow2 format allowed me to boot and use these images.

However recently I've experienced filesystem corruption in some of the
qcow2 images. :-o I'm not sure whether this a bug or it's due to the few
crashes (that were unrelated -ie. caused by something else- to this
bugreport) that I experienced recently. I've only had filesystem
corruption in the images that were running during the system crashes and
not in any other images ... so hopefully it's not related to this bug.
