Hm, the logs look good so far. Can you please try this: 1. killall gnome-volume-manager 2. Remove the device 3. plug in the device 4. gnome-mount -vbd /dev/sdb1 5. if 4. worked, : gnome-umount -vbd /dev/sdb1 and back to step 2
