re "NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0 (8139too): transmit queue 0 timed out" - yes I have seen that one. I thought it'd be in the logs and reports apport compiled but I didn't examine the submission thoroughly this time.
I had thought that this might be another example of some other 8139too problems I have seen discussed but those don't seem to be midstream dropouts like my problem. I thought it might have something to do with standby or screensaver issues but I have those turned off and it can happen even when the system is active. My current guess is that it has something to do with loading as a means to explain why it happens faster with LAN data dumps and slower with web browsing, usually. I haven't figured out a way to reliably test that, though. The ifdown OK but ifup hang and the need to power off to reset tell me something is getting stuck sideways and the driver can't see it. -- network connect fails after short use with rtl8139 mobo nic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/496614 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
