Using Ventrilo with wine 1.1.34 (and prior) the mic hook would fail
after 20-45 minutes or so, cascading through Pulse to anything involving
the mic, and only after using Ventrilo. Mic seems to behave correctly
using native linux apps, indefinitely. Only after a restart would I get
mic functionality back.

Thinking this was an alsa issue, I did the only thing I figured could
help, upgrading to alsa 1.0.21, with no effect.

I attempted compiling wine from git with the winepulse patches applied.
After running, I don't get pulse, nor winecfg. Apparently I failed
somewhere during this. :)

I am now using Neil's Wine+WinePulse package (wine 1.1.31 with
winepulse 0.33) from his PPA, but with Pulse enabled in winecfg, then
going to Ventrilo's settings to test the mic, I am greeted with a "No
mixers are available" dialog. Passing that, the mic won't function at
all in Ventrilo, though it does in non-wine apps.

PulseAudio *IS* a mixer, isn't it? I'm unsure of where the problem is
coming from.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
