Can't seem to change the encoding (affecting the language used for the
id3 tags when ripping) from within the "Edit Album" section.
Always defaults to the first choice in the "Encoding" drop down
regardless of selected choice (selection doesn't stick).
This means that non-English songs titles will be ripped with Mojibake
info in the id3 tags. Have tried manally entering song titles in
Chinese, the displayed album listing is updated, but the encoding used
isn't.
Have also ran into the following situation on a default English desktop with
Chinese language support installed:
1) Chinese language album information is picked up from freedb.
2) Non-English song titles show up as Mojibake text. English song titles ok.
3) Went into "Edit Album", changes encoding to Simplified Chinese (gbk). Song
titles are correctly displayed.
4) Exiting "Edit Album" section sees the "CD Tracks" (first) screen being
updated with the correct song title information.
5) Go into "Edit Album" again, the non-English song titles are again in
Mojibake.
6) Check the "Change Encoding" section. Encoding has being restored to the
first selection.
I'm certain that it's always the first choice, because have tried
ripping the same cd on a system with Chinese Desktop, which doesn't
default to the "Arabic" encoding like the English Desktop does.
Everything else stays the same though, Mojibake song titles and all.
Only workround seems to be the re-editing of song titles in programs
supporting id3v2.4 tagging (e.g. Amarok).
