I also have this with my iMac G5 rev C (iSight) on Desktop Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 (ubuntu-9.10-desktop-powerpc.iso).
In particular, I have the *exact same* display string found: /p...@0,f0000000/ATY,aphrodite2par...@0/ATY,aphrodite...@1 I have very slightly different device tree strings and device tree struct: Device tree strings 0x0000000002c5b000 -> 0x0000000002c5c5ed Device tree struct 0x0000000002c5d000 -> 0x0000000002c66000 However the symptoms are identical. I've tried live-nosplash video=ofonly modprobe ide_core break=top as boot options, but none of these options seem to improve the situation.
