Turns out the Debian 'fixme' is to install the 'netfilter-extensions- source' package.
It's contents: dpkg -L netfilter-extensions-source /usr /usr/src /usr/src/netfilter-extensions.tar.bz2 /usr/share /usr/share/doc /usr/share/doc/netfilter-extensions-source /usr/share/doc/netfilter-extensions-source/copyright /usr/share/doc/netfilter-extensions-source/changelog.Debian.gz Viewing the Debian changelog yields no useful information as to how to proceed.
