Same here with Ubuntu Karmic, fully updated:
1. Insert a CD-ROM into the CD drive, it will be mounted correctly
2. Eject the CD-ROM previously inserted
3. Insert another CD into the drive

The previous CD won't be unmounted auotmatically, you have to manually unmount 
it, and after this you have to (because you are forced to) manually mount the 
new volume.
It's a bit frustrating when using applications that require disk-swapping
