I downloaded the mainline 2.6.32 dailybuild kernel source, enabled the staging drivers and compiled it. The device seems to work. But I had to search for the firmware which I found on the Internet. Not sure if it is to be trusted. The filename is: rtl8192su_linux_2.6.0002.0708.2009.tar.gz . It seems to be an out-of- tree firmware but could not get any solid references. After installing the firmware in /lib/firmware/RTL8192SU/ the device worked. I am able to connect to all wireless networks ( WEP / WPA2 ). The connection seems to be stable.
Can we get this driver backported to the current 2.6.31 kernel in Karmic? -- realtek rtl8192su chipset based USB wireless devices fail to work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
