Not sure is this is the same thing since my issue is persistent. Moving your finger across the pad works fine for long strokes, however rolling your finger is erratic and annoying. Placing the finger on the pad and instead of moving your hand with finger stiff in place to drag the mouse, tilt your hand so your finger rolls up or down and the touchpad may or may not move the mouse. The subtle change isn't picked up by the touchpad. This makes catching the edge of windows for resizing very difficult without a really steady hand. Other synaptic pads also using Ubuntu work normally using this method. I only noticed this when I began using a Macbook that I just installed 8.10 on.
There seems to be something in the sensitivity settings that doesn't respond properly to small movements. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the touchpad being almost twice as large (larger surface area) as other laptop touchpads. It's large enough to make a stylus driven wacom like tablet out of it. -- MacBook touchpad issues https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243761 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
