This bug or a very similar one affects me running fully updated Karmic with an Intel 3945ABG wireless card. I requested help on the Ubuntu forums http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8441680 and was directed to this bug unfortunately after I found an alternate resolution in WICD. So my ability to do additional troubleshooting is limited.
I have been running Karmic since release day and would occasionally get wireless disconnects. It would sometimes reconnect on its own after a few minutes, occasionally it would require a reboot. Sometimes wireless networks would not appear in the list, even though I knew they were there because other laptops were currently connected. Finally 2 weeks ago after a system update "wireless enabled" was unchecked and greyed out, and wireless was disabled, and nothing I tried reenabled it. I verified the wireless switch was on, and both Windows XP, and WICD were able to utilize the wireless card without problem. Questions from previous reporter 1) WPA2-AES 2)DCHP on wireless 3)No 4)This started about 2 weeks ago and continued until yesterday when I gave up on NM and switched to WICD. If you think the relevant sections would still be in daemon.log and be helpful, let me know. I will try to help with any other info requests.
