Same here. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 (consecutive system upgrade from Kubuntu 8.10->9.04->9.10) on a Positivo W95. g-m-p also fails to inform time left, it only displays the percentage. All worked well with Kubuntu 8.10, logged in kde or gnome.
For the record: the system hibernates normally if I click on the hibernate button.
