To be prefectly honest i dont think the problem lies with the drivers, even 
though down grading seems to have worked in my case. 
The reason i say that is because Fedora 12 works perfectly on my machine. 
Suspend/Hibernate and Resume work "out of the box". 
Surely the drivers used by Ubuntu and Fedora would be the same?

I do know that kernel mode switching is supposed to solve alot of the
suspend/resume problems, but i'm not sure the Intel drivers are
compatible yet....alot of work has been done on the drivers for the ATI
chip set.
