Just a few quick questions... Are you trying to set the syntax highlighting or are you trying to download/install a new syntax file? To set the syntax highlighting all you have to use Tools -> Highlighting. Do you think this is related to this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205295 ?
