The rtl8192se seems to work fairly well at this point. On my Toshiba 505-s6980, the reception is more sensitive than it is on my old m105(I don't recall the chip set on my old laptop right off). I have had both the patched and unpatched drivers lock up the laptop on occasion. Attached are a couple of captures of the kern.log for both the patched and unpatched versions of the driver.
