Sir,
On 24 Nov 2009 I installed updates (approximate size 45 MB) and the system
asked for reboot. After rebooting I got the new option at boot time as under:-
[ Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-15-generic]
On selecting this option the system stopped with the following message:-
[ 3.41 4156] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown block(8.7)
After this I had to revert back to
[ Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic]
and the system is booting OK.
Further, I am using Ubuntu inside Windows XP.
