Definitely not fixed in 9.01. I made a fresh karmik-install (2.6.31-15) (Board: D945GCLF2). The wrong r8169 - driver is still used. Even in 100Mbit-Mode, high network traffic causes dropouts for a minute.
Seeing this heavy BUG not fixed let me seriously doubt about Ubuntu beeing a recommendable Server-System.
