Hi I have the same problem. I use the an Nvidia hdmi drive thats what I found out.
i had installed also the backports...no change- itś still nothing availeble on sound devices in pulseaudio. well please can someone help? thx Nic -- Lost the mic input after upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10.
