Public bug reported: It doesn't matter if I choose "Try ubuntu" or "install ubuntu", but if I choose "try", the system starts correctly and I can access my harddisk without problems. When I finally want to install ubuntu 9.10 on my ASUS A7V8X Board (HDD is connected to SATA!) and I come to Step 4 of 6, the installer show no partion or hdd where I could install the system (ComboBox is also empty). Doing the same procedure with the ubuntu 9.04 is no problem, "Step 4 of 6" shows correctly my 250 GB harddisk, I just tried it before.
At the 9.10 livesystem, mount says: aufs on / type aufs (rw) none on /proc type proc (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev) none on /sys type sysfs (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev) udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw,mode=0755) /dev/sr0 on /cdrom type iso9660 (rw) /dev/loop0 on /rofs type squashfs (rw) none on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw) none on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw) none on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw) none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=0620) none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev) tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev) none on /var/run type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755) none on /var/lock type tmpfs (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev) none on /lib/init/rw type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755) binfmt_misc on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev) gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/ubuntu/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon (rw,nosuid,nodev,user=ubuntu) /dev/sda3 on /media/dfbb2cfa-feba-4d01-a644-40f9955ed97f type ext4 (rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=devkit) /dev/sda1 on /media/fcd8becb-10c2-4311-846d-ab428c822533 type ext4 (rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=devkit) /dev/sda4 on /media/67b8b94b-6adf-4733-89ea-d85abec8d1f8 type ext4 (rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=devkit) /dev/sdb1 on /media/5B30-A58B type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=devkit,uid=999,gid=999,shortname=mixed,dmask=0077,utf8=1,flush) lsmod says: Module Size Used by nls_iso8859_1 3740 1 vfat 10716 1 fat 51452 1 vfat usb_storage 52544 1 binfmt_misc 8356 1 lp 8964 0 snd_via82xx 23576 2 snd_ac97_codec 101216 1 snd_via82xx ac97_bus 1532 1 snd_ac97_codec snd_pcm_oss 37920 0 snd_mixer_oss 16028 1 snd_pcm_oss snd_pcm 75296 3 snd_via82xx,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss snd_page_alloc 9156 2 snd_via82xx,snd_pcm snd_mpu401_uart 6940 1 snd_via82xx snd_seq_dummy 2656 0 snd_seq_oss 28576 0 usblp 12636 0 snd_seq_midi 6432 0 dm_crypt 12928 0 snd_rawmidi 22208 2 snd_mpu401_uart,snd_seq_midi snd_seq_midi_event 6940 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi iptable_filter 3100 0 snd_seq 50224 6 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event ip_tables 11692 1 iptable_filter snd_timer 22276 2 snd_pcm,snd_seq snd_seq_device 6920 5 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq x_tables 16544 1 ip_tables snd 59204 15 snd_via82xx,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_seq_oss,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_timer,snd_seq_device i2c_viapro 7312 0 ppdev 6688 0 via_ircc 24016 0 psmouse 56180 0 irda 189564 1 via_ircc ns558 5404 0 parport_pc 31940 1 soundcore 7264 1 snd serio_raw 5280 0 crc_ccitt 1852 1 irda gameport 11368 3 snd_via82xx,ns558 shpchp 32272 0 parport 35340 3 lp,ppdev,parport_pc squashfs 22912 1 aufs 149420 1 nls_cp437 5372 2 isofs 31620 1 dm_raid45 84228 0 xor 15620 1 dm_raid45 via_agp 7932 1 agpgart 34988 1 via_agp ohci1394 29900 0 ieee1394 86596 1 ohci1394 b44 28684 0 ssb 35300 1 b44 mii 5212 1 b44 ramzswap 8880 1 xvmalloc 5180 1 ramzswap lzo_decompress 2620 1 ramzswap lzo_compress 2300 1 ramzswap Thanks for any idea...
