Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cryptsetup
I looked briefly through other cryptsetpu bugs (there are really quite a few!) but it seems this is a separate bug. For /dev/sda10 all works fine, for /dev/sda11 and above (sda12, sda13 etc) it always says Command failed: Can not access device sda11, sda12 etc are valid, normal partitions. Example: r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda10 abc Enter LUKS passphrase: r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda11 abc Command failed: Can not access device r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# blkid /dev/sda10 /dev/sda10: UUID="a3XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXa" TYPE="crypto_LUKS" r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# blkid /dev/sda11 /dev/sda11: UUID="c1XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXX4" TYPE="crypto_LUKS" (I censored the UUIDs above) r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# stat /dev/sda10 File: `/dev/sda10' Size: 0 Blocks: 0 IO Block: 4096 block special file Device: fh/15d Inode: 2397 Links: 1 Device type: 8,a Access: (0660/brw-rw----) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 6/ disk) Access: 2009-11-20 03:12:31.493646650 +0100 Modify: 2009-11-15 06:57:53.238812063 +0100 Change: 2009-11-15 06:58:05.191308969 +0100 r...@lcwood:/etc/limcore/mount# stat /dev/sda11 File: `/dev/sda11' Size: 0 Blocks: 0 IO Block: 4096 block special file Device: fh/15d Inode: 2448 Links: 1 Device type: 8,b Access: (0660/brw-rw----) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 6/ disk) Access: 2009-11-20 00:57:24.713652124 +0100 Modify: 2009-11-15 06:57:53.238812063 +0100 Change: 2009-11-15 06:58:05.301300599 +0100 It was working fine before update from 9.04 to 9.10 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Nov 20 03:18:19 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: cryptsetup 2:1.0.6+20090405.svn49-1ubuntu7 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: cryptsetup Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64 ** Affects: cryptsetup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- cryptsetup can not access device - Command failed: Can not access device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/485624 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
