Hello-
I removed the files and used alsamixer to mute the IEC958 mixer. This
did not fix the issue.
I tried to restart alsa (/etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart)and got this:
* Shutting down ALSA... [ OK ]
* Setting up ALSA...
* warning: 'alsactl restore' failed with error message 'alsactl:
set_control:1389: Cannot write control '2:0:0:IEC958 Front Playback Volume:0' :
Operation not permitted
alsactl: set_control:1389: Cannot write control '2:0:0:IEC958 Playback
Switch:0' : Operation not permitted
alsactl: set_control:1389: Cannot write control '3:0:0:IEC958 Playback
Default:1' : Operation not permitted'...
amixer: Invalid command!
This did not fix the issue, and upon using alsamixer again the IEC958
mixer is 'ON' again. Should I try a different method to mute it?
