Hi!

Thank you, that explains a lot.

Only problem left is how come what I drag does disappear when I move
things from one folder to another, but you say it won't remove the ones
I drag into the thumb drive?

I'm a little nervous about that, but I guess I'll see that it is so, if
I just do it. I had my whole desktop covered with files a little while
ago, and someone taught me how to put them into a folder, so I created
one and named it "desktop" so I wouldn't forget where those things were,
but they wouldn't be piled one on top of the other and clutter up the
Desktop. But when I moved them into the folder, they disappeared from
the Desktop itself.

I'm sure you're right, you'd have to be, or it wouldn't make any sense,
since all we're trying to do is copy them into an external storage so as
to protect them, but I was worried that I'd have to do something a
little different to get them to copy, and stay where they were, as well
as move into the thumb drive storage. Does the computer just already
know that I'm not meaning to move them, but just reproduce them into the
thumb drive, even if I don't specifically tell it so?

You're awfully patient, but I admit I love learning to actually
understand all of these things, rather than just doing them.

Thanks again,

Doris
