this is happening to me as well. firefox 3.5.5 up to date karmic release. when scrolling using konqueror, it is very fast. opera performs very quickly when scrolling as well. compiz is enabled and i'm using the nvidia driver in Xorg. this does indeed still scroll incredibly slow when compiz isn't enabled. 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] (rev a1)
