I am also new to Linux/ Ubuntu. First time it seemed to be related to not knowing that i need to unmount, and when the CD would not eject on pressing the physical eject button, I used a pin to force it to open the tray.
However, this time, I used the eject in "places" in Nautilus after creating CD's. Now I cannot see the USB stick nor the CD (but I can play the contents).
