Empathy does have "send and receive messages" under its name after I close it. However, although I am more than willing to assist you in troubleshooting this, I have to point out that this bug report is not about Empathy at all. The problem is with Pidgin and how indicator- applet-session keeps IM accounts signed in even after all IM clients are closed (including Pidgin and Empathy). Is this still looking into the same issue?
