And it still does not work.

Just to reiterate, this is the line I'm using in my own instance, and it
does work:

SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_CDROM}=="?*", ENV{ID_SERIAL}=="WD_Virtual_CD*",
ENV{DKD_PRESENTATION_HIDE}="1"

This has been confirmed on two different machines with two different WD
drives. Both machines using Karmic.
