Binary package hint: update-manager
The error report instructed me to report this bug in update manager. I
am now running on LiveCD 9.04 to make report. Installed version no
longer loads / boots. The system is corrupted, I could not report the
bug before reboot, then reboot failed. I could not bring up error logs
to verify content existed. I updated 9.04 to the latest package releases
yesterday. Updated my laptop successfully yesterday and tried new
distro, decided to update desktop this morning. Downloaded all packages
while using a Win program in an emulator. Failed to shut down other
process before update installation proceeded. (May be the reason the
error occurred) First sign of error was failure to install Libuur1 (?? I
didn't write this cryptic term down, so I may have misspelled this
name). libuuid1 (found name in logs, pasted it in here for you)
I have attached all the logs in a file.
They appear in order:
apt.log
main.log
term.log
they are pasted together into one file with a multiline space
separating them.

I have tried to recover, and have been able to boot the machine into
what a Windows user would term a DOS terminal. I do not know what a
Linux user would call it.
I will back up my files using my LiveCD to operate, and I will download
an iso copy of Ubuntu9.10 to load, but I will await your instructions
before making changes in case I might be of assistance to you in solving
the bug.
If you determine my failure to close the program which I was using to be
the cause of the bug, then of course there should be no effort on your
part to resolve my stupidity, but please notify me that I may install
the new version, because I REALLY LIKE the OS I just installed on my
laptop!!!!
I hope I have included the information you need to investigate whether
you should validate the bug and address it, or ignore it due to user
incompetence.
