I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and find that the mouse stops working after the system has been operating a short time. Happens no matter what software package (Firefox, Evolution, Open Office, etc.) I am using. I can still use the keyboard shortcuts (when I can find them!), and if I shut the system down with Ctrl/Alt/Del and choose Shut Down with the alt key, let the system rest a short time (15-20 minutes), reboot, and it will work for a while. Then we go through the same routine.
