Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub
AMD64 system with 2 500gb Samsung HDs in RAID0 format. Upgrading 9.04 to 9.10 results in my PC not booting, dropping to busybox prompt after 10 sec of the Ubuntu logo. No error messages appear. A fresh install from Live CD only sees a RAID array, not the 9.04 already installed, installing results in a Grub error 2. Fresh install from Alt CD activating raid array results in system unable to boot, same as if I upgraded. Fresh install from Alt CD not activating RAID also fails to boot after install, again, no error messages. I'm not sure what bug this falls under, if any. Suggestions to change my RAID in BIOS won't help, I searched every line, every option in BIOS and RAID is never mentioned. How does one install 9.10 to a RAID so it boots? A clear, step by step guide is desperately needed as many people are having the same problem. 9.10 is unusable as it currently exists. ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Karmic upgrade or fresh install will not boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/481337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
