Another with the same problem on Ubuntu 9.10 (and bios A12). Sometimes work, sometimes don't.
With the 'no apic' option, i don't see difference. Sometimes i have to start windows vista to make the card work. (Then If i reboot and go to Ubuntu, wifi works normally (after reboot)).
