Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: transmission

Transmition and localized folders.

I have Russian localized folder names in /home/<username>: e.g. I have "Рабочий
стол" instead of "Desktop" etc.
However, every time I start Transmission, it creates a duplicate named
"Desktop" so I have two Desktop folders: "Рабочий стол" and "Desktop".

What's wrong: there is a checkbox in Preferences->Torrents, "Automatically add
torrents from", its value at the right
is "Desktop" by default (should depend on the current locale I suppose). The
bug is that while the checkbox is _unchecked_, it creates the folder 'Desktop'
anyway (because it doesn't find it).
The workaround was to check the checkbox so that the combobox at the right got
enabled, manually change the folder from "Desktop" to "Рабочий стол", and unbox
the checkbox again (!).

This bug is obviously not a very critical one, but that was quite
annoying. This is one of those little annoying things that drive casual
Linux users mad.

It would be good to disable creating the unfound folder if the checkbox
described above is _unchecked_, or maybe to map to the right locale
(dunno if it's easy to implement). This is the expectable behavior.

Thanks.

Ubuntu 9.10
