I don't agree with your answer.
In fact this is NOT an Ubuntu One error, but a packaging error:
-Ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix comes with UbuntuOne client version 1.0
-Ubuntu 9.04 desktop comes with UbuntuOne 1.1
Anyway, the 1.1 version DOES NOT connect to the cloud ("Capabilities
Mismatch" error). It seems that (as stated in bug 462828 )

does not work correctly : the newest client does not connect but the
older does.
