I also hav a HP LaserJet 1018 and exactly the same error. (EasyPeasy
Newest Version) When the USB-Printer is plugged in on boot I get these
"usb 1-6: device descriptor read/64, error -110" / "usb 1-6: device
descriptor read/8, error -110" errors. But the printer also does not
work if i plug it in later, after the system has booted. Sometime
deleting it helps to delete the printer driver and to replug it in, but
since the last few days this workaround does not work anymore.

If it to helps to solve the problem I can attach the dmesg-Output.
