Public bug reported:

Note over the system: System has been upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 on
Friday the 06th of Nov.

ovi...@ovidiu-laptop:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

What I have expected to happen / how it was on 9.04:
I am connecting the laptop to the Internet using a Huawei E220 broadband mobile
modem. Previously (Distribution 9.04) connection was done without any issues.

What happens after upgrade to 9.10:
Modem is mounted and a (temporary?!) /dev/sr1 folder is created. This has to be
created using root privileges which is not possible since I am in GUI using my
normal user (ovidiu in this case). Thus /dev/sr1 cannot be created/accessed
from my account and mobile modem cannot be mounted.

Workaround used:
In this case I am using the following workaround which is a little bit annoying:
- sudo mkdir /dev/sr1
- chown ovidiu /dev/sr1
- connection through mobile modem is possible
Note: workaround is not anymore available after restart.
