Actually, not all translation files requested by apt-get exist, e.g. http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty-security/multiverse/i18n/Translation-en_GB.bz2
Without apt-cacher, apt-get seems to handle the error 404 (file not found) gracefully. Apt-cacher seems to handle the error different and fails to report the 404 correctly to apt-get, thus the error message. The guys at debian also have a ticket (and it seems a workaround & fix) related to this: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=517761#69 ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #517761 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=517761 -- apt-cacher doesn't know about Translation-[lang].bz2 files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/83987 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
