Public bug reported:

My computer is a Dell XPS M1210 with latest Bios ( A06 ).

When booting with "quiet" option in grub, boot hangs half way of
progress bar for 40-50 sec and then the bar progresses normally and GDM
is shown.

I tried removing the "splash" option and leaving quiet on to see the
messages, and it hangs after dectecting and mounting (?) my root
partition ( ext3 ) and my /home partition ( ext3 ).

After this, I removed the "quiet" option and put the "splash" option
and to my suprised, the computer booted in under 40 sec ( real fast )!

If I put back quiet, it hangs for 40-50 sec...

Tried it on Edgy and Feisty.

Any ideas?
