This may be a wodim problem or a hald problem. I recommend you first upgrade to recent original software from:
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/ http://cdrecord.berlios.de/ and check again with the original cdrecord. If this does not help, you may add a different write mode (in this case: -raw96r).
