Public bug reported:

I am having this funny issue where everything seems ok with Ubuntu
Karmic 9.10 Desktop but if I try to transfer a file from my server to my
desktop machine the problem arises that the transfers start off with
nice speeds (2MB/s over wireless) and then stall for about 10 seconds or
so, then start again, then stall.

First I noticed this with windows shares (using nautilus) so I thought
I'll try the ftp instead but still the problem is there. I reboot but
the problem is still there.

I thought maybe it's to do with the cpu so I have tried setting the cpu
frequency to ondemand, performace, 1.2GHz fixed, 2.0GHy fixed but always
the same thing.

The same thing happens with, for example, making skype (video) calls, it
works for 30 seconds, then stalls for 10, then works for 30 then stalls
for 10 ad infinitum.

Anyone have any ides?
