I have the same problem. I recognized that switching off assistive technologies made the problem disappear. In fact eclipse worked ok in a failsafe session. Since in a failsafe session the AT_SPI_REGISTRY is not started, I tried to run a normal session with assistive technologies switched off. That works as well. I hope this might help someone to fix the problem.
