my udevd has 65:12.70 cpu time after only 10hrs uptime after upgrading to karmic final (from 9.04) (udev version 147~-6, kernel 2.6.31-14). i did not suspend/stand by... only the monitor was put to standby by power management. i too see those drm changes (lots!) when monitoring udev.
